The wait is finally over! Microsoft just released Windows 11, which is a new and improved version of the Windows operating system. In addition, what is great about Windows 11 is that it continues to simplify the printing process by supporting the Mopria print technology.
In addition to implementing the same IPP printing solution based on the Mopria print standard that was also included in Windows 10*, Microsoft continues to expand support for Mopria print technology in Windows 11. For example, the addition of IPP over USB support enables customers to print to Mopria certified printers over USB without the need for custom drivers. Through alignment with Mopria, Microsoft is able to offer simple and seamless printing from your desktop or mobile device to more than 120 million Mopria certified printers.
Easy Set-Up and More Flexibility
When you need to install a new printer, whether at home or in the office, Windows will automatically install the Mopria certified printers and enable printing to them. This eliminates the need to install any additional software of drivers, allowing you to easily print, regardless of the printer’s brand.
Another benefit that comes with Windows supporting the Mopria Print technology is that the Mopria solution ensures that you can print wherever you are, as long as you are connected to a Mopria certified printer, which includes over 5,500 models from manufacturers in the Alliance. This means that you’ll have more options and freedom to print when and where you need to. For example, if you are traveling, you can connect your PC to multiple printers in new locations, or print whether you have an internet connection or not.
Printing from Windows is just one way the Mopria Alliance and its member companies are making printing easier and better than ever before, ensuring that users have convenience and flexibility wherever they are.
