As consumers continue to do more and more from their mobile devices, the use of wireless printing becomes ever more relevant. Keeping pace with this adoption, Mopria has announced that there are now more than 4,000 Mopria certified printer models. This equates to more than 120 million certified printers from various manufacturers in the Mopria Alliance. But how can you tell if a specific printer is Mopria certified? You can find the Mopria logo on a printer’s packaging or you can check the list of certified products to confirm that it is Mopria certified!
Mopria certified is an elite designation meaning that the printer model is able to receive print jobs wirelessly from an Android device using either the Mopria Print Service app, which is available in the Google Play store, or Android’s Default Print Service. It also means that jobs can be received from the Windows 10 zero install print driver available on Windows 10 October 2018 Update and later. Wireless printing with Mopria makes it easier to print that important document or special picture, with little or no setup required between the printer and your phone.
Mopria allows for wireless printing on a Mopria certified printer, regardless of the manufacturer brand. On Android, you can also print using the Share feature from many popular apps, including Facebook, Flipboard, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Pinterest. Devices that have the app will see a Mopria Print Service option along with email and messaging. Simply select the Mopria Print Service option, select the printer, adjust settings, and print!
